We only have a few awards shows left until the Academy Awards roll around and each one is worth the wait. The BAFTA Awards returned to London on Sunday night and brought some pretty epic red carpet trends our way.
The Color Purple
If we had to pick a single color that was ruling the red carpet in London, purple and lilac dresses would make the cut. Everyone from Viola Davis and Jodie Turner-Smith to Angela Bassett and Aimee Lou Wood seemed to be in love with this color.
Black & White
The black and white combo was just as popular as purple dresses, with the likes of Kate Middleton, Hayley Atwell, and Vera Wang wearing it. White gowns also had their moments, and Lily James and Naomi Ackie looked positively bridal in theirs.
Ruffling Some Feathers
Feathered dresses also had their moments at the BAFTAs, with Julianne Moore, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Leonie Hanne putting them on the map. Ruffled dresses weren’t that common, but Florence Pugh made us fall in love with them all over again.
Caped Gowns
Caped gowns have the power to make anyone feel like a superhero and it’s impossible to resist their draw. Anya Taylor-Joy gave us one of the best caped looks in recent memory, but we were also impressed by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lashana Lynch, and Viola Davis.
