The award season is in full swing, and the BAFTA Awards are one of the latest ceremonies to take place—and bring countless amazing trends our way. Here are three red carpet trends that stole the show at this year’s BAFTAs.

Velvet Gowns

If we had to pick the biggest fashion trend to emerge at this year’s BAFTAs, velvet dresses would make the cut. Black gowns were especially popular, with Naomi Campbell, Caitriona Balfe, and Millie Bobby Brown embracing this trend, while Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek opted for a different color palette.

Black and White

The black and white combo is never going out of style, and several stars attending this year’s BAFTAs gave it their seal of approval. Emma Watson, Ella Hunt, and Lea Seydoux hit the red carpet wearing black and white dresses, while Sienna Miller embraced this trend by matching her white dress with black gloves.

Vibrant Colors

In the sea of black and white dresses, some stars decided to bring some color to the red carpet. Zawe opted for pink, Alana Haim couldn’t resist green, Rachel Zegler went with blue, while her West Side Story co-star Ariana DeBose gave us one of the night’s best outfits in her flowy, yellow gown.
