3 Mindful Practices to Try Each Day

Mindfulness is a fascinating concept that many people find to be incredibly beneficial for their mental health and well-being. The idea is to be more present and aware of how you’re feeling and what is happening around you. There are many methods and approaches, and here are three simple practices to try each day to help you tap into a more mindful state of being.

Breath Focus

This is one of the most fundamental concepts in many meditation and mindfulness practices. Focusing on the breath is a great way to calm the mind and bring your awareness to your body. A simple way to go about this is to sit somewhere quiet with your eyes closed and simply count each exhale until you reach 10 and then start again at 1.

Body Scan

Mindfulness is about being present and tuned into your current feelings and state. For most people in their day-to-day life, we are unaware of how our body feels. To tap into this awareness, a quick body scan can help. Scanning your focus down through your body to experience any sensations is a great tool for mindfulness.

Identify 5 Senses

While a lot of mindfulness is about focusing on your inner state, another huge aspect is an awareness of the world around you and being more present. A great way to do this is by taking a moment to open your senses and then identifying something for each of the main 5 senses.
