5 Areas to Clean Before Guests Come Over

Now that the holiday season is over it doesn’t mean you should stop inviting people over to your house. We get it, hosting people is stressful, but it’s part of maintaining relationships, so it has to be done at some point. Your house doesn’t have to be spotless to have guests over and your friends and family will love you even if your house is a bit messy.

Here are the five areas of your house to pay attention to when cleaning it.

Bathroom Surfaces

We bet you notice when public bathrooms are filthy, but in your home, you may not pick up on the mess because you’re used to it. Make sure to tuck away any makeup products or toiletries from the counter and wipe down your counter, faucets, and toilets.

Kitchen Counters

Guests love gathering in the kitchen and for good reason, that’s where the food comes from. Prior to your guests coming clear your sink and countertops. Any dirty dishes should be put away in your dishwasher – don’t worry we won’t tell anyone.

Sofa

On a day-to-day basis, your sofa gets a lot of use. After all, it’s where your children, husband, and pet like to unwind. Just vacuum the couch, fluff the pillows, and fold the blankets before your guests arrive.

Drinking Glasses

What’s more disgusting than finding someone else’s lipstick on your glass? Rinse off your glasses and dry them right away to make them super sparkly.

Entryway

Your guest’s first impression of your home is when they enter your entryway. Put any shoes, jackets, or bags away and do a quick vacuum and sweep.
