The ’90s is the one era of fashion that we can guarantee will make a comeback every year. From double denim to messy bangs, ’90s style features in all our wardrobes.

Sometimes, the best place to get ’90s fashion inspo is from the iconic TV shows of the era. Sarah Michelle Gellar famously had a different hairstyle for every episode of the first few seasons and even Alyson Hannigan dipped her toes in the grunge closet from time to time.

Here’s a look back at some of the most definitely ’90s looks of the series.

High School Style

The knee-high boots, animal print, turtleneck and even Willow’s oversized jumper. This picture of the Scooby Gang is so ’90s that it practically feels like we are there with them.

Midi Skirts

We often celebrate the maxi and everyone loves a short skirt but the midi skirt is totally underrated. Unless you’re Buffy Summers.

Updos and Retro Glasses

These retro glasses are so ’90s that they make the ’60s look like the ’50s. Nothing beats a messy updo either.

Leather Jackets

There’s a lot of leather in Buffy. From Spike’s iconic leather coat to Faith’s love of leather trousers, the material is everywhere. Nothing beats an oversized jacket borrowed from your vampire boyfriend though.

Overalls

Willow pretty much made overalls her signature look throughout the early seasons of the show. Although we’re a fan of Vampire Willow’s goth look too, overalls are always a comfy and adorable classic.
