Curling your eyelashes is one of the best ways to make them look longer and fuller, but before you do that, make sure to do it correctly. Read on to find out common mistakes we make when using a lash curler, and how to correct them.
Curling Your Lashes After Applying Mascara
If you apply mascara and then use an eyelash curler, you can potentially break or even pull your lashes out. Instead, make sure your mascara is off, then curl your lashes and apply mascara at the end.
Not Replacing the Pad
The small pad inside your eyelash curler is there to protect your lashes, so make sure to replace it every couple of months when it gets too dirty or cracks.
Not cleaning your eyelash curler
Keep in mind that you’re using your curler close to your eyes, and that’s why you want to keep it clean all the time. Once in a week or every two weeks clean the curler with alcohol to remove the bacteria and dead skin cells.
Pressing Down Too Hard
You may think that you’re doing a good thing by pressing down your lashes too hard, but you’re doing exactly the opposite. This can bend your lashes too much or even break them, so make sure to apply gentle pressure in the future.
