Long before you could get sweets in grocery stores and conveniant stores there were candy shops, real places where they made your favorite treats the old fashion way. Although many have closed down, all throughout the US you can still find some incredible candy stores. Especially if you have a sweet tooth, you have to visit these amazing candy shops.

Schimpff’s

Located just a couple of miles from downtown Lousville is Schimpff’s, located in Jeffersonville, Indiana. With all sorts of candy, including their famous red-hot like candy, this store has been serving the surrounding community since 1891. The store also has a small dinet, as well as a museum about the candy making process.

Chutters

In small town Littleton, New Hampshire is Chutters, the candy store famous for having the longest candy counter in the world. The store boasts 112 feet of counter that holds glass containers of all sorts of delicious candy.

Shane Confectionery

The oldest candy store in the country is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is called Shane Confectionary. Created in 1863, it is still serving up candy over 150 years after its conception. Philadelphia is full of historical buildings and sites, so make sure you put this candy store on your to-see list next time you visit.
