What to Bring For a Holiday Dinner

It’s always important to show manners when you’ve been invited to someone’s home for a holiday dinner. Sometimes it can be hard for a host to ask for things they actually need, so take the initiative and plan to bring something. Whether that’s food, a gift, or something else entirely, you should never show up to someone’s home empty handed!

Alcohol

Bringing a bottle of wine or some craft beer is always a good idea! A holiday dinner can never have too much alcohol, and if there is already enough, it’s nice to have something for the host to have later on.

Homemade Sweets

Making something like fudge or caramel and wrapping them up into individual pieces is such a fabulous present to bring to someones home. Not only does it shoes that you are grateful to have been invited, but it’s also a delicious treat that everyone will appreciate.

Ask the Host

Some people are shy about hosting and feel they have to do everything themselves. Reach out to the host several days before the dinner and suggest a few things you can bring. Whether that is a homemade soup, salad, or making a signature cocktail, it never hurts to ask.
