There’s just something about coffee mugs that makes them irresistible, and most of us struggle with leaving Target without buying a new one. They are all adorable and unique in their own way – but also utterly unnecessary.

If you have more coffee mugs than you actually need, here’s how you can easily get rid of the ones that are just taking up space.

Ideal Number

You probably don’t use more than two mugs on a regular day, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should get rid of all of them. Try to figure out the average number of mugs used by everyone in your household on a regular basis, since you can easily borrow a set when you’re having a lot of guests over.

Collector’s Items

If collecting mugs isn’t just a force of habit, but your favorite hobby, make a nice display for your favorite pieces. Pick a spot where they aren’t in anyone’s way, instead of having them take up space in your kitchen cabinet.

Letting Go

If you’re really thinking about getting rid of the unnecessary mugs, make sure to ditch the ones that are not in such a great shape, have no sentimental value, and you don’t like to use them in the first place.
