Whether you’ve had dry skin forever or have suddenly discovered your skin is rather dry, there are a few things you should take into consideration before you freak out. A lot of different elements contribute to dry skin, and a lot of times you can control them and make your dry skin disappear. Here is a guide to get you back with healthy skin.

Hot Water

If you love taking long, hot showers, that is the first thing that has to go. Hot water will dry out your skin because it strips your skin of your natural oils, which makes it much drier. To remedy this, take lukewarm showers and put a small heater in your bathroom to keep you warm. Also, avoid washing your face in the shower and opt for the sink instead, which will help drying out your face.

Heating

Central heat can make your house really dry in the winter, although it keeps you toasty and warm. The dryness in the air can also contribute to your dry skin, but there’s an easy fix for that. All you have to do is get a humidifier which will restore some moisture back into your home and help your skin out as well.
