It’s not just clothing fashions that change with the seasons. Makeup also has its seasonal trends. We take a look at a few of the trends we expect to see making an appearance this year.
Skin that is glossy
Featured all over the runways of the 2018 fashion shows was the glossy look on eyes and skin. It’s a step up from highlighters.
Crystals
Yes, they’re even appearing in makeup. This New Age trend is showing up everywhere, not least because of Kim Kardashian’s love for them. Some makeup products even have ground up crystals in them.
The Color Purple
Pantone declared UltraViolet the color of 2018, so expect to see it everywhere. Pantone says that “enigmatic purples” are associated with “counterculture, unconventionality, and artistic brilliance.”
Bolder eyeliner
2018 is no time for the timid. This year, bold, dramatic eyeliner a la Cleopatra is making a comeback. Think black liner that is thicker on the bottom than the top, and make it as dramatic as you like.
Lipstick all over
Lipstick’s finding its way to more than the lips this year. Use lipstick to brighten up your cheeks, and even on your eyelids for a satin finish that is super-pretty.
