Gather All of Summer’s Gorgeous Fruit and Freeze It!

Frozen fruit is such a gift, especially if you have the willingness to do it yourself. Freezing fruit is such a great way to preserve it because you don’t need to add anything to it to make it last, and by freezing it at home while it’s still super fresh and in the season you’ll be able to enjoy that fresh taste all year long! Although some fruits do freeze better than others, it’s super easy to get started so you can enjoy all your summer favorites through the seasons.

Process

  1. First, wash the fruit you’ll want to use and dry it really well. If there’s still moisture on the fruit when you go to freeze it, you’ll end up with icy fruit instead of perfectly frozen pieces.
  2. Then, cut the fruit up into whatever sized pieces you want or leave them whole if they’re very small.
  3. Then, put a sheet of parchment paper onto a baking sheet and spread the fruit out onto it.
  4. Put a piece of plastic wrap over the tray and put it into the freezer for at least a couple of hours up to overnight.
  5. Then, take the fruit off the baking sheet and put it into an air-tight container or a freezer bag and store it for anywhere between 6 and 9 months!
