How to Deal with Gifts That You Don’t Want

The golden rule of gift-giving is that you should never re-gift or sell the presents you received from your loved ones, but what else is left to do if you really dislike them?

Here’s a couple of creative ways to get rid of the presents that you find no use for.

Donation

Even if you don’t like a piece of clothing or household item you received as a gift, there’s someone out there who probably will. Avoid the guilt of passing on your present by donating it, since you won’t experience any financial gain from this act.

Get Creative

Even if you don’t like the gift you received in its original form, you can still transform it into something else. Get creative, and you may end up with a cool new sweater or a stylish piece of home décor.

Be Honest

They say that honesty is the best policy, and you’ll have to give it a shot if you don’t want to end up with a closet filled with unwanted presents. If the gift-giver kept the receipt, feel free to tell them you’d rather exchange their present for something else.
