How Often Should You Wash Your Pillows?

Be honest – how long has it been since you last washed the pillow you sleep on? Many are surprised that pillows should be washed, thinking that clean pillowcases are enough to keep things under control, but the truth is that your pillow gets filled with dust mites, bacteria, and body oils over time.

And who wants all that below face night after night for hours an end? Nobody, and that’s why you need to wash your pillow at least 3-4 times per year.

And now you’re probably wondering how to wash your pillows. Thankfully, it’s a lot easier than you think. Look for a tag on the pillow that tells you if it’s machine washable. If it is, you’re lucky. Just toss two of them in the machine together and choose the temperature stated on the tag. Add an extra rinsing cycle just in case, because pillows can hold on to the soap because they are thick.

The important part is to dry them well. Make sure there’s no moisture left at all to prevent mold forming and you’re done!
