The DMV can be a very frustrating place. There are usually very long lines, the workers often don’t take as short of time as you expect, and you can easily spend many hours there frustrated with nothing else to do. But, there are some ways to make your experience a lot easier and ultimately more productive. Follow this guide and you’ll never be afraid of going to the DMV again!

Reservations

Before you go to the DMV check your local office’s website to see if there is a possibility of making a reservation. This will greatly decrease your waiting time, and you will often be seen within 15 minutes of your reservation or sometimes less. But, you do have to do this in advance so try to plan for 1-2 weeks before you know you need to go.

Productivity

If your DMV does not allow for reservations, come prepared! You might not have to wait very long depending on the time of day, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Always bring with you either a book or have some shows downloaded on your phone. You can also even ask your employer if you can work from home that day and get some work done at the DMV.
