Many brides (and grooms) feel unexpectedly sad and anxious once their wedding is over and we have to tell you – this is perfectly normal. This feeling is known as post-wedding depression and it can be pretty challenging to deal with if you don’t know how. Here are a few ways to fight this post-wedding blues.

It’s normal

The first step in overcoming post-wedding depression is to accept that it’s a totally normal thing. It happens to many couples as the result of all the attention and planning you’ve experienced over the last few weeks or months.

Plan your honeymoon

Start planning your honeymoon, if you want to slowly transition to your normal life. This way you’ll prolong the excitement for a few more weeks and won’t have time to feel depressed.

Find new goals

Once all of this is over start focusing on all the things you look forward to in the future. If you can’t think of any, make them – learning a new language, finding a new hobby or redecorating your place are all fun ways to distract yourself and leave depression behind.
