How to Live More Sustainably

Sustainability is all about living in a way that promotes reuse, reduces waste, and is something that can generally be maintained for a long time. You do not have to be a radical or a scientist to start treating the earth better, because it is the only planet we have. So, if you are looking for ways to live more sustainably, these are some good places to start.

Disposables

Whether it is plastic utensils, fast fashion, or buying produce out of season, all of these things do not promote sustainability because they don’t have a long shelf life. Instead, everything you use for food and entertainment should be reusable, buy your clothes either second hand and or with high-quality materials so they will last, and only buy food that is in-season to promote sustainable agriculture.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon emitted into the atmosphere is something that is destroying the earth, so to live more sustainably, try cutting down on your carbon emissions. This means taking public transit, walking, or cycling more instead of using a car. Also, trying to go on planes less frequently and when you do, try going on eco-friendly planes that offset their carbon emission by planting trees.
