You might have noticed I'm not into low carb diet, also when it comes to preparing meals and snacks for my kids and the rest of the family. I truly believe we need good quality carbs in our diet in order to stay healthy and energized, and by good quality I mean coming from non processed foods, rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber 🍃 Medjool dates are my secret weapon in the fight against store bought, poor quality snacks and sweets (all the moms out there will understand the struggle!). Dates are 'natural energy bars' and they have the power to keep us happy and satisfied for hours, thanks to their high amount of fibre and low rate of carbohydrate absorption to the blood. Unlike all the store bought bars, medjool dates are naturally sweet, juicy and nutritious, without any sugar or fat added. I always search for Israeli medjool dates cause there's no other variety that could beat this taste, texture and quality. You know, the ones that taste like caramel 😉😋 They are perfect for school lunch boxes and afternoon snacking sessions, that my kids love so much. Find the Source of the Stress

Identifying the thing that triggers stress is crucial in solving this problem. These can include relationship issues, work problems, and health or financial issues. Keeping a food diary and writing down what you eat and when you eat it can help you find the source of stress.

Find Ways to Relieve Stress

Once you’ve identified what triggers you to eat more than usual, it’s time to find different ways to relieve this stress. This can involve a lot of different things from taking up a sport, meditation or yoga to ending toxic relationships in your life.

Snack Healthy

If you feel the need to snack on something, don’t reach for junk food or sweets. Instead prepare a healthy snack, such as fresh fruit, vegetables, or nuts. Even a glass of water or a nice cup of tea can ease the urge for food.

Avoid Temptation

It’s easy to be tempted if you keep junk food or chocolates in your home. Try to avoid buying food you know you’ll regret eating later and maybe that way you’ll end your unhealthy habits.
