If You Don’t Have the Proper Baking Tools Use These Substitutions

Sometimes recipes call for items to use when you bake that you simply don’t have at home. If you run into this problem while you’re in the middle of baking, don’t worry! You can always use these substitutions.

Rolling Pin

Although it might seem like everyone has a rolling pin, it’s not necessarily true if you’re not working with dough or baked goods often. If you’re in need of something to replace it, just use a wine bottle! The size it just the same and it’ll work fine. Or, if you don’t have a wine bottle, use a tall glass jar.

Cupcake Tin

Especially if you don’t make muffins or cupcakes often, there’s no reason to have a tin laying around. Instead, all you need to do is grab some mason jar lids and cupcake liners and you can make your own tin! Just put the lids down on a baking tray and put the liners inside them. The lids will help hold them up so you can make all the cupcakes you want.

Piping Bag

A lot of people don’t have real piping bags laying around, but all you really need is a glass and a large resealable bag! Just put the bag into the glass with the corner down, fill it with icing, batter, or whatever you have, snip off the corner, and you’re set!
