A lot of people think of bagels being something that can only be found in New York City. While there is a delicious style of bagel made there by Jewish immigrants, there are so many other kinds of bagels from around the world. If you are a bagel lover, it’s really worth it to go to these cities and try their rendition of the bagel.

Montreal, Canada

Montreal is famous for a lot of things, one of them being their unique bagel! This bagel is slightly sweet, a little dense, and has a big hole in the middle. Most people eat them without anything on them, so give them a try for something new.

Jerusalem, Israel

Although you might think these bagels are similar to New York style, they couldn’t be anymore different. These bagels are a lot more like a bread roll, and are a longer shape than typical bagels. They are normally topped with sesame seeds and also won’t be paired with cream cheese, sadly, but taste great with zaatar!

Helsinki, Finland

In Finland, their standard bagel is called a vesirinkeli and is made similarly to a New York style bagel. Their holes are also a little bit bigger, and the Fins eat them toasted with butter, which is so delicious.
