If You Love Drinking Herbal Tea, Beware of These Side Effects

A lot of people use herbal tea in place of caffeinated drinks, or as a way to fall asleep at night. Although herbal tea does a lot of good for the body, and really can have amazing benefits, if you drink too much of some types of herbal tea you can really be doing damage to your teeth.

If you drink at least 3 cups of herbal tea such as lemon, raspberry, or any other kinds of fruity herbal tea, you can be eroding away your teeth’s enamel with each cup. Because of the acidity and natural sugars in the fruits, it actually damaged the enamel more than other types of tea, according to a study done in England.

Also, if you are someone who brushes their teeth after drinking tea, that is even worse because the enamel becomes soft when you drink the tea, so brushing right after will literally brush the enamel right off your teeth.

Although this all sounds scary, you just have to make sure you are drinking pure herbal and not fruity teas too often, and when you do drink them, try to just rinse with water after to get the acid off of your teeth.
