Magnus Juliano is a rapper and graphic designer who has decided to pay tribute to Louis Vuitton with the giant hair braids which are going viral.
He has created colorful box braids with beads and giant Louis Vuitton charms. He designed the look himself and used a 3D printer to execute his vision.
Juliano explained to Vogue that he is continuously influenced by his ancestors. He also revealed that Solange is a big inspiration to him in the way she is constantly changing up her hair.
“African-American roots are rich in hair jewelry and headdress—it’s our fabric,” he said. “I chose [to pay tribute to] Louis Vuitton because of the impact [the brand has] had on art and design, but from the perspective of designers like Dapper Dan, who didn’t have access to [luxury brands] yet still made hip-hop couture using their likeness.”
When sharing his creation on Instagram he joked: “Hey @VirgilAbloh, can I earn an internship? I have ideas!” We have a feeling these LV braids are only the beginning for Magnus Juliano.
