Merissa from Little House Living posted this recipe for an easy homemade shaving cream, which she claims is very simple and can be used for “dry” shaving. She also said that the cream does not lather and can be stored even for several weeks in a dry and cool area.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Coconut Oil
  • 1/3 cup Shea Butter
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil (you can use a different oil like sweet almond or jojoba)
  • Essential Oils (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the shea butter and the coconut oil on a low heat on the stove top.
  2. Once it’s melted, pour into a container and add in the olive oil and stir. Set this mixture in the fridge and let it harden.
  3. Once it’s solid again, you can take it out of the fridge and put it into a bowl that you can whip it in.
  4. Whip it for about 3 minutes or you can do it until it’s light and creamy. Add in essential oils here if you wish.

DIY Shaving Cream/Butter with Gentle Baby Essential Oil 🌿 . . . Here’s my mystery DIY recipe for #makeitmonday! This stuff is not only easy to make, it’s soooo amazing for your skin, thanks to the ingredients, especially the incredible oils inside Gentle Baby EO, like rose, ylang ylang, lavender & more! 🌸 As you can imagine, it smells beautiful too. ✨ Also, from my own personal experience, I get a super close shave with this stuff & the coconut oil in it helps keep my razor blade sharp! 👌🏻 This could also easily be used as a body butter – just add a dash arrowroot powder, if you want, to cut down any greasiness. | Want to try Gentle Baby EO? It’s a beautiful blend specifically made for mothers & babies but also used for healthy skin! Let me know if you’d like to order a bottle if you have something else in mind… I have an order going out this Thur night & I’ll share my wholesale discount! 🙌🏻 . . . Makes one 4 oz jar. . . You will need: . . . 4 TBSP coconut oil 4 TBSP shea butter 2 TBSP olive oil 15–20 drops Gentle Baby EO Glass, microwaveable bowl Mixing bowl Spoon Hand mixer 4 oz jar or container . . . Melt first three ingredients in microwaveable bowl in microwave for 15-30 second intervals until fully melted. Make sure it’s not too hot. You can either add the EO now when the mixture is luke warm or wait until it’s whipped. Next, pour mixture into a big, mixing bowl then set in the freezer for 2 minutes or until the surface of the mixture is just a little solidified. You want it a little thick before using the hand mixer. Once you can tell it is, take it out & use the hand mixer for a minute or so, or until the oil mixture looks like whipped cream, then spoon into your jar or container. You only need a little bit per use. If the shaving butter starts to melt a little, just stick it in the fridge & take it out when you need it! Enjoy! 🛁
