How Many Glasses Of Water Do You Really Need Everyday?

Generally speaking, the human body can survive several weeks without eating, but only 3-4 days without water. That is because 60% of our body is water, so without hydration, your body’s major organs will stop functioning. Even still, lately, people have been questioning whether the 8 glass a day minimum is really necessary. It really depends on a few factors, so if you struggle with drinking enough or want to learn more about how much you really need, read on!

Environment

Depending on where you live will dictate how much water you actually need. For example, if you live in a hot and humid place, 8 cups a day will not be sufficient. At that point, you will really need between 11-15 cups.

Activity

If you are more active and thereby sweating and releasing water, you will also need to drink more since your body is getting rid of more water. Again, 11-15 cups is healthier.

Diet

If you are someone who consumes a lot of fruits and vegetables throughout the day, you will actually need to drink less water. That is because produce has a high water content, so even if you’re not drinking it, you’re still ingesting it. That being said, still aim for 8 cups a day.
