Here’s Why You Should Never Sleep with Your Hair Pulled Back

If you spend an entire day with your hair in a ponytail or a bun, chances are you’ll go to sleep the same way. Unfortunately, this habit can be very bad for your hair and here’s why you should avoid it at all costs.

Breakage

Sleeping with a ponytail won’t do any favors to your hair. It can cause serious damage and breakage, especially if you enjoy tight hairstyles.

Letting your hair down is the best option, but if you don’t enjoy having it in your face, at least try to use loose-fitting scrunchies or silk headwraps which aren’t so hard on your hair.

Hair Loss

Wearing your hair tightly pulled back can lead to more than breakage and damage. It can even cause hair loss if you keep doing it on a regular basis.

Fortunately, you can solve this problem by changing your ways. You won’t get back the hair you lost, but at least you won’t be repeating the same mistake once you stop pulling it back while you sleep.
