Nicola Coughlan’s star has been on the rise for years, and the leading role in the third season of Bridgerton made us fall in love with her all over again. She pulled all the stops while promoting Season 3, and established herself as one of the stars to watch on the red carpet.
Coughlan’s style evolution has been a joy to watch, but she didn’t always feel as confident as she does today. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she admitted there was a time she would regret things she wore on the red carpet, but the countless costume fittings for Bridgerton changed her perspective.
She started embracing the joy and artistic expression of dressing up and started using fashion to make herself feel more powerful.
“I think it’s very easy to tell when the clothes are wearing the person, and not the other way around. If you feel authentically good, other people’s opinions really don’t matter. [Fashion] affects you and how you carry yourself in a room,” she explained.
Coughlan found a perfect partner in crime in her stylist Aimée Croysdill, who’s been curating her red carpet looks for years. They developed quite a partnership and enjoy working together to pay homage to Coughlan’s projects through her fashion choices while celebrating up-and-coming designers from their local area.
