È stato un po’ come quella volta che ho vinto un uovo di Pasqua gigante alla lotteria del negozio sotto casa. “Guarda che l’hai vinto tu, sul serio! Pesa cinque chili!” mi ha dovuto ripetere più volte la panettiera, con voce giuliva, mentre mi porgeva il sacchetto del pane. Il fatto è che, come con l’uovo di Pasqua, non ci ho creduto subito. C’era stato, qualche giorno prima, un commento che mi avvisava delle intenzioni di Instagram (lo trovate ancora sotto il post di maggio) ma io non mi ero fidata! “Figuriamoci se su un miliardo di utenti ripubblicano proprio me! Anzi questo tizio vorrà la mia mail per hackerarmi il profilo” ho pensato, orgogliosa di questo mio inedito moto di astuzia. Così, sabato scorso, quando ho visto arrivare una quantità inaudita di notifiche, non ho capito subito. Ho iniziato a intuire qualcosa dopo un messaggio vocale di @val_ina: “apri Instagraaaam, sei su Instagraaaam!”. Cosa? In che senso? Insomma per farla breve prima sono stata incredula, poi felice e orgogliosa come se avessi ricevuto una laurea ad honorem (non credo che esista una parola per esprimere la sensazione che si prova davanti alla notifica “@instagram ha iniziato a seguirti su Instagram”).

According to Julian Gutman, Product Lead at Instagram, people who appear at the top of the list of views on your Instagram story are the ones you interact with the most.
In other words, if you like and comment on someone’s photos often, they will appear on top of the list of people who have viewed your Instagram story.
I often do after a big project or event, which is what happened this week (big party Sunday, two projects due Monday). Sometimes I try to press through the block and just keep creating, but it isn’t satisfying and then @instagram feels like a chore. So today, rather than dwell on the fact that I’m not sure what to do next, I came up with 7 things that help clear my mind, making room for creativity to flow again. 
Any of these resonate with you? 1. Do a few chores (organize office, put away laundry, clean out fridge, reduce clutter). 2. Take care of loose ends (pay bills, return emails, rsvp to invitations) 3. Spend quality time with my kids (no agenda, no distractions) 4. Walk around the block and notice things in nature (no phone, no music) 5. Pick up a book and read a few chapters, or flip through a seasonal magazine 6. Put upcoming events on the calendar (out of my brain and onto paper) 7. Take a nap or get a foot massage (or both Another factor is the date, meaning that the algorithm puts people who have recently viewed your story on the top.

The day before her appointment, I had received a few packages of a new direct-dye line and knowing that my client was in the market for purples, it just clicked.
“Believe it or not, this color really doesn’t require a whole lot of care, apart from the typical cold rinses and infrequent washing routine. Since I didn’t bleach her out or touch her roots, the color should grow out super smoothly.”
