People get itchy scalps for all sorts of reasons. Whether your skin gets drier in the winter, you have dandruff, eczema or more, having an itchy scalp is no fun. To alleviate your scalp problems, try one of these DIY natural solutions and feel the relief.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has many medicinal properties for your skin and inside your body, one of them being anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Use it after you shampoo your hair to relieve your symptoms. Mix it with warm water, rub it in, and rinse it out. It also locks in the moisture in your hair so you also will not need to use conditioner, so it’s a win-win!

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint essential oil is a strong essential oil that has soothing properties if first diluted and applied to the skin. In order for it to work best, dilute it into another type of oil like olive oil or melted coconut oil. Coconut oil has it’s own properties that make it great for an itchy scalp, so you might want to consider using that. Rub it onto your scalp either before or after you wash your hair and your scalp will feel good as new.

What’s my secret weapon against nausea and vomiting? 🤢 . . . Peppermint essential oil applied directly to the acupuncture point, Pericardium 6. . My poor little guy gets nauseous with any airplane turbulence, and the anxiety about possible throwing up of course makes everything worse. . Peppermint essential oil has so many benefits for nausea and digestive issues, fevers, colds, headaches, itchiness, aches and pains, and even mental and physical energy and well-being. It’s an essential oil staple in our household! . And better yet, when you’re trying to combat nausea and vomiting, whether it’s from motion sickness, stomach flu, or morning sickness (yes – this works great for pregnancy of nausea!) – apply peppermint oil directly to Pericardium 6 and hold gentle pressure or massage in little circular motions for a minute or longer as needed. . Pericardium 6 is one of my favorite acupressure points. YES – it’s THE point for nausea and vomiting, but it also is one of THE best points for anxiety – perfect for my Bodi Bear when gets worked up about being nauseous and more and more worried that he’ll actually throw up. . How do you locate Percardium 6? Slide your thumb or finger from the middle of your child’s inner wrist crease toward their elbow crease – your finger will stop naturally in a depression between the wrist tendons, which will be approximately 1 – 1.5 inches from the wrist crease depending on how big your child is. . I’m happy to report that we made it back from Denver on a slightly rough flight with barely a hint of nausea, and a very happy little Bodi Bear! 😍🎉👍 . xo Holistic mama doc – Elisa Song, MD💕 . P.S. Please remember that peppermint essential oil (or any other minty oil like eucalyptus) is not to be used near babies' faces or noses as there are case reports of breathing difficulties when applied near the nose, and definitely want to dilute when using with children. In general, if you want to be extra cautious, dilute dilute dilute and avoid using in children under 2-3 years of age…

Suede shoes are really stylish, sophisticated, and come in all different styles and designs. Whether you love suede boots, sneakers, or loafers, there’s a style for everyone to enjoy. However, when they get dirty, it can be really frustrating to try and clean. If you have a pair of shoes that need a good cleaning, here is an easy way to get rid of most stains with household items!

Tools

For this, you can either buy a suede cleaning brush or use something similar that you have at home, such as a potato brush or even a toothbrush. You will also need a clean kitchen sponge.

Instructions

  1. Use whatever brush you have and start brushing off the dirt from the shoes. Do this in one direction, this will make it easier to get the dirt out.
  2. Then, take 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and put it into a clean spray bottle.
  3. Spray the affected area and use the clean sponge in circular motions to get out the rest of the dirt.
  4. Allow the shoes to dry and put a shoe tree inside of them in order to keep the shape.
  5. Once the shoes have completely dried, take the brush again and go over the shoes one more time.
  6. That should make your shoes look brand new again!
