The Converse x Chinatown Market collaboration is officially here, and it’s a ’70s psychedelic dream.
The collaboration between the two retail giants has resulted in a shoe that changes color when you step outside. The UV-activated shoe starts off sneaker white and then transforms into a brightly colored pattern when exposed to direct sunlight.
Chinatown market founder and lead designer Mike Cherman told Sneaker News: “I think that’s what’s so fun about this project. It makes the shoe more than just a shoe. It’s a conversation pieces, something that’s unique.”
He added: “These hues [on the shoe] change in their own way, and some colors will last longer while others will last for a shorter time period. It’s the beauty of the shoes: how unique they are.”
The sneakers are colorful, innovative and affordable. They are perfect for festival season and are a whole lot of fun. What’s not to love?
