In the run-up to The Lion King live-animation remake, we scarcely needed any more reason to get excited. First off, The Lion King is just about everyone’s favorite Disney movie and secondly, the trailer looks incredible. Just when we thought it couldn’t better, we learned that Beyoncé herself will be making an appearance in the movie. And now, the ASOS x The Lion King collaboration has landed and we have been reminded again just how much love we have for the story and its characters.
The new collection is entirely inspired by the Disney movie and features womenswear, menswear and a collection of fantastic unisex pieces. Even better, the collection is inclusive and offers plus sizes all the way up to 6XL. This means that no one has to miss out on the fun.
“The memorable landscapes from The Lion King serve as a perfect backdrop to embrace vibrant prints through pieces such as the jungle patterned shirt and shorts and the sunset print t-shirt,” Vanessa Spence, ASOS Design Director, told Teen Vogue. “The collection reworks scenes from the 90’s movie and brings them up-to-date through a neon color palette, denim co-ords, and printed bucket hats.”
The colorful collection is full of loud African inspired pieces but it also contains some true throwbacks to the original animated Disney movie.
