A lot of people who own and use garbage disposals don’t know that you actually need to clean it pretty frequently! But, if you think about it, it does make a lot of sense. If you’re throwing food down it often then you need to make sure that there’s nothing that’s making it unclean or smell bad.
That’s where garbage disposal bombs come in: all you have to do is throw a couple down your garbage disposal, turn it on for half a minute with the cold water running, and you’re good to go! These last forever so you can make as many as you like and save them for later.
Instructions
- In a bowl mix 1 1/2 cups of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of dishwashing soap, and 2 teaspoons of sea salt.
- Drop in 20-50 drops of your favorite essential oils and mix well.
- Then, slowly add in water, starting with 1/4 cup until everything comes together without being super wet. You shouldn’t have to do add more than 1/2 cup total.
- Then, just take some of the mixtures and form them into balls and allow them to dry overnight out on the counter.
- Once they’ve dried, store them in an airtight container and use at least once a week so your garbage disposal stays clean!
