These Things Are Actually Killing Your Plants

When you buy or receive a new plant as a gift, your goal is probably to keep it alive and thriving as long as you can. But sometimes, your best effort is actually doing it damage.

Here are some common mistakes people make when taking care of plants.

Too Much Water

Plants need water, but not too much of it. If you think that it’s okay to pour more water “just in case,” you’re in for an unpleasant surprise – the roots will start to rot and your plant will probably die.

Direct Sunlight

Similarly, it sounds obvious that plants love the sun, but direct sunlight can actually do more harm than good. You will notice the leaves turning brown or your plant becoming too dry.

Spraying Water

Spraying some water on your plant can seem like a good idea, but some plants really hate having water on their leaves, so make sure you know if this is good for the plants you have.
