Houseplants have become one of the most popular home decor choices. They add so much life and freshness to a room, and people love the aesthetic of having these delightful plants around the home. However, they can be tricky to care for, with each plant requiring a different approach to its care. To make matters worse, these care needs can vary from season to season. Summer in particular is when many plants may well need more attention, so here are some general tips to help you out.

Be Careful About Sunlight

Many plants love a lot of natural light but not directly on them. This is even more important to remember in summer when the sun is stronger and around for longer, as too much direct sunlight on plants that don’t like it can scorch the leaves and leave them feeling dehydrated and dry.

Buy Some Plant Food

Spring and summer are when plants explode with life. During this time they’ll gain new leaves and have growth spurts which is incredibly exciting to see. You can help them out here and witness even more growth by giving them some plant food. This is filled with nutrients they love and you’ll see how much healthier they become.

Check for Mites

These little creatures can become a problem at any time, but it’s much more likely in summer. Regularly check over the leaves to see if there are any tiny black bugs on them, and remove them with a damp cloth if you do find them.
