The Academy Awards are Hollywood’s biggest night, so it goes without saying they always bring countless red carpet trends our way. This year’s ceremony delivered on that promise and here are five fashion trends that took the red carpet by storm.

Ruffles Bonanza

Dresses with dramatic ruffles took the red carpet by storm. Billie Eilish and Jada Pinkett Smith went all in and wore layers upon layers of ruffles, while Nicole Kidman and Jessica Chastain embraced a more subtle approach to this trend.

Ravishing Reds

Red was all the rage this awards season and Hollywood superstars embraced it once again at the Oscars. Tracee Ellis Ross, Kirsten Dunst, and Ariana DeBose are some of the stars who couldn’t resist this trend.

Blush Tones

When it comes to color trends, blush tones and pastel hues were just as popular as ravishing reds. Zoë Kravitz, Lily James, and Mila Kunis are some of the stars who gave this trend their seal of approval.

Menswear-Inspired Looks

Colorful suits were the biggest menswear trend at this year’s Oscars, but the gentlemen weren’t the only ones wearing menswear-inspired looks. Wanda Sykes, Kristen Stewart, Zendaya, and Uma Thurman were some of the stars putting a glamours spin on this trend.

Let It Shine

The Oscars proved to be a perfect chance to shine for many of the attendees. Some of them made their mark by hitting the red carpet in outfits with sparkly appliqués including Jessica Chastain, Vanessa Hudgens, Lupita Nyong’o, Tiffany Haddish, and Timothée Chalamet.
