You may or may not have heard about it, but using rice water for hair has been huge in some cultures in Asia for centuries. Women from China, Japan, and Southeast Asia used this fantastic remedy to keep their hair long and healthy, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t try it, too.

This ancient method is actually pretty popular among the social media beauty gurus and the recipe is as easy as it gets. All you need to do is cook or soak some rice and use the leftover water to rinse the hair after washing it. That’s it! It really can’t get any easier.

Apparently, the water that’s leftover after cooking (or even just soaking) rice has all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids rice does. How is it good for your hair? It can detangle it, help it grow, make it shiny and smooth, etc. Try it for yourself to see what all the hype is about! To make rice water, rinse a cup of rice and soak it in 3 cups of clean water for 30 minutes. Strain and use to rinse your hair after washing.
