If you’re anything like me, you get frustrated at not being able to replicate that salon-perfect hair look at home. But there are some do’s and don’ts to the art of blow drying your hair. Here we tell all …

Always use a good hairdryer

You can’t get that professional look without a good-quality dryer. A good dryer will dry your hair faster with the aid of high power settings, a cool shot, and other features. You’ll be glad of the investment.

Don’t dawdle after washing your hair

Avoid leaving your hair in a towel after you shower. It can damage your hair to the point of breakage. Instead, squeeze dry with a microfiber towel, and allow your hair to air dry before blow-drying.

Don’t start brushing too soon

When hair is wet, it is easy to damage. Instead of going straight in with a brush, rough dry your hair first on medium heat. When your hair is about 80 percent dry, start using your round brush to style your hair.

Give your roots attention if you want volume

If your hair could use some volume, pay attention to the roots to get root lift. At the end of blow-drying your hair, turn your head upside down and brush or comb (with your hands or a wide-toothed comb) while blasting with your hairdryer.
