Keep Your Wrapping Eco-friendly (But Still Super Chic) This Christmas

At Christmas time, an immeasurable amount of wrapping paper is thrown away each year. Although wrapping paper is made of paper, which is recyclable, it also often comes with non-recyclable additions. Any paper coated with glitter, plastic and synthetic incs ends up in a landfill. It might look great under the tree, but it doesn’t look so great when it ends up as bad news for the environment.

In order to ensure your wrapping paper is recyclable, try scrunching a piece of it up. If it stays, it is recyclable, if it falls apart, it is coated with plastic.

Eco blogger Karl Arnell says: “There are lots of different alternatives when it comes to wrapping a gift, so it’s about finding a wrapping style that works for you. Try and think about it in advance and save little things throughout the year – scraps of paper, things that come with deliveries – that can be reused.”
