Learn How to Properly Use Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is one of those magical ingredients in skin care that is also a normal part of the structure of your skin. You can use it in a number of products, but the best option is pure acid. There are several rules you have to obey in order to see the real benefits of this ingredient.

Apply On Damp Skin

You have to remember this golden rule. Apply the acid on damp skin, so that it can lock in the moisture. The skin will absorb it better and that way you’ll reap all the benefits. Also, use a very thin layer, only several drops for the whole face.

Use Tapping Movements

Those circular motions with your fingers are not a good option for hyaluronic acid. Instead, use light tapping movements all over the face.

Choose The Right One

Water-based serums are much better for normal or oily skin. Oil-based serums will work wonders for dry skin. Find products that have at least 0,2% of this acid in their ingredient list.

Use It Twice A Day

The recommended usage is twice a day. Make sure that you do a quick test on whether this acid works for your skin. Start by using it once a day and you can work from there.

Hyaluronic Acid is knows for its ability to help skin retain moisture. Since it can absorb up to a thousand times its own weight in water it has the ability to instantly plump skin and smooth wrinkles, as well as, help skin repair itself due to its antibacterial properties. ✨ ~ ⚗️Panthenol: a chemical substance made from pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B-5. In topical cosmetics, product manufacturers often use panthenol as a moisturizer. But it’s also included in many cosmetics as a softening, soothing, and anti-irritant agent. It also helps your skin build up a barrier against irritation, and water loss.✨ ~ Review: The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid is a great addition to skincare regimen, especially in colder months when skin is experiencing greater moisture loss. HA helps lock in the moisture. I find that most HAs tend to pill under thicker creams/oils or under makeup (every one I tried so far at least.) This particular HA is pretty good as staying put, but I still don’t use it under makeup to avoid uneven application. HA is a great product to mix with other serums or treatments ( I like to mix it with Niacinamide,) to help seal in the moisture. HA is an absolute staple in skincare.
