Sugar scrubs are great because of the main ingredient – sugar! This is an excellent exfoliator because the miniature sugar crystals dissolve well in water which means it’s a lot less abrasive than other kinds of scrubs.

Then mixing in a couple of drops of your favorite essential oils will further enhance the scrub’s sensory experience. If you want to combat acne, try adding tea tree oil. For a relaxing effect, add some lavender oil.

For this scrub, prepare some sugar (granulated), virgin coconut oil (organic), and your preferred essential oil. In a bowl, mix the sugar and the coconut oil. Make sure that the coconut oil is in a liquid state but it shouldn’t be too warm.

This is important so it won’t end up dissolving the sugar. If you want a coarser texture, keep on adding more sugar. As soon as you achieve the consistency you desire, add a couple of drops of essential oil. Then place the sugar scrub in a glass jar with a lid. You can use this scrub for up to 3 times each week.
