Moving in Together? Make Sure You’re on the Same Page About These Things

When you’re together for a while, moving in with your partner seems like a natural step to take. Still, there are some things you need to think about and discuss with your partner before you take this step. Make sure you’re on the same page about these three topics first.

Housework

Who will clean? Who will cook? Who will do the dishes? Will you split the work by chores or take turns? Is your mess toleration on a similar level? It may sound ridiculous, but everyday tasks like this can create problems if you don’t know how to handle them.

Money

Again, it’s best if you share similar values when it comes to money. If you’re both frugal or you both love spending, chances are you’ll get along great (as long as you don’t spend more than you have). If one of you is a shopaholic while the other one’s favorite activity is budgeting, you need to talk and compromise.

Marriage

For many people, marriage is “implied” after being in a relationship for a while, but that doesn’t mean their partner thinks the same. Have a conversation about marriage and you may save yourself from more pain in the future.
