The lake was first discovered in 1802, but there’s still mystery surrounding its unique shade. Scientists first believed that the lake owes its pink color to an extremely high level of salinity, but there’s no definitive proof to this theory.

The Grounds of Alexandria has always been one of Sydney’s most opulent cafés, but its latest makeover transformed it into the magical world of Disney’s Aladdin.

The cafe celebrated the release of the highly-anticipated remake by putting up an installation that will take your breath away.

Their attention to detail will make you feel like you stepped straight into the fairy tale we all know and love. After making a grand entrance through majestic archways, you can explore treasure-filled Cave of Wonders, hang out at the opulent courtyard or get some treats at the market place.

Needless to say, the best part of the whole experience is the food! You can try several delicious treats inspired by the iconic Disney classic, including Jafar cake, dessert tasting board, guava and jasmine butterfly pea slushy and so much more!

Unfortunately, this installation won’t be around forever. The Grounds of Alexandria will take this special offer off the table on June 16th, but we’re hoping they’ll surprise us with more Disney-themed makeovers in the future.

This artwork consist of 120 suspended bird cages, hanging above Angel Place, a pedestrian lane that runs between George and Pitt Streets in Sydney. “Forgotten Songs” exhibit was a part of temporary art project from 2009, but it was so popular that it was transformed into an permanent laneway installation in 2011.

This amazing work of art is a brain child of Michael Thomas Hill. Visual artwork is accompanied by the sounds 50 bird species that once lived in central Sydney, but had to find new home over the course of the last few centuries.

“The installation explores how Sydney’s fauna has evolved and adapted to co-exist with increased urbanisation – inviting contemplation of the city’s past, its underlying landscape, and the sustainability issues associated with increased urban development,” explained Hill.
