]]>What if we told you that deep cleaning your couch is easier than you thought and that you can do it by yourself, saving some money that you can spend on better things? Here’s how.
First thing to do is check the label — see what material is your couch made of and how it should be taken care of. For example, W means that it can be washed with water, WS means that you can use a combination of water washing and dry cleaning, X means that you can only vacuum it, and S means that you can only use dry cleaning.
In case your couch comes with a W tag on the label, you can proceed. Vacuum it thoroughly and make sure you didn’t miss any corners and folds. Sprinkle the whole thing with baking soda (you may want to check how your couch reacts on it first on a small part) and leave for half an hour. It will help you get rid of stains and smells. Take a wet sponge and use it to remove the baking soda from your couch. Finish with a dry cloth.

]]>A slipover is similar to a couch cover, but it is much more elegant and blends in better with you couch. You can get all sorts of style and fabric, even leather kinds! Turning your regular couch in a leather one for just a couple of hundred dollars is absolutely worth it.
Pillows are one of the best ways to mellow out a not so fabulous looking couch for really cheap! Choose pillows that will cover up a good amount of the couch and that also introduce a color into the room that you would have wanted in a couch, whether that’s a neutral or something crazy and bright.
Leaving a throw blanket on a couch is another great way to cover it up and make it look really cozy and inviting. Just like the pillows, think about a color that the room is lacking and apply that to the blanket.
