Speaking of cafés, there’s nothing quite like drinking a warm cup of tea and enjoying a nice meal on a rainy day, so it’s a good idea to check out some local restaurants and cafés.

Pub Crawls

Going on a pub crawl when it’s raining isn’t a bad idea either. You’ll deal with rain while getting from place to place, but you’ll manage to stay inside and have fun for the rest of it.

Charge Your Batteries

That’s not stopping fall from becoming the best season for traveling, and here’s why you should take it into consideration.

Financial Aspect

Since fall isn’t a peak season for travelers, everything tends to be much cheaper during this time. You won’t have to break a bank to book a flight to your next destination, and all the cheap hostels will still be available even if you’re making your booking last minute.

Avoiding the Crowds

Dealing with big crowds is an essential part of traveling during peak season, but you won’t be bothered by it in the fall. Lines will be much shorter wherever you go and you’ll have an easier time experiencing a new city like a local.

Last weekend we planned one of the most impromptu getaways. Friday at lunch we spoke about going to watch fall colours at the White Mountains. We booked an airbnb in the next hour, went home, packed our bags, took our passports and drove around 1000 kms to New Hampshire.
