Traveling in the fall comes with a long list of benefits, but unpredictable weather isn’t one of them. Rainy days can completely ruin your trip—but only if you let them. Even if it’s raining outside, you can still do many fun and interesting things—starting with these five.
Museums
Museums and galleries are a place to be on a rainy day. If the city where you are offers museum cards, make sure to buy one, and visit as many museums as you can in a single day.
Bookstores
If you enjoy discovering new bookstores everywhere you go, you’ll enjoy them even more on a rainy day—especially if you find one with a cozy café on its grounds.
Restaurants and Cafés
Speaking of cafés, there’s nothing quite like drinking a warm cup of tea and enjoying a nice meal on a rainy day, so it’s a good idea to check out some local restaurants and cafés.
Pub Crawls
Going on a pub crawl when it’s raining isn’t a bad idea either. You’ll deal with rain while getting from place to place, but you’ll manage to stay inside and have fun for the rest of it.
Charge Your Batteries
If your trip isn’t extremely short, you don’t necessarily have to go out on a rainy day. Get some rest, organize your photos, do some journaling, catch up with friends and family, and make plans for your next day. There’s so much you can do at home so it won’t go to waste.
