This breathtaking spot became known as “Shipwreck Beach” and “Smuggler’s Cove” after shipping vessel the Panagiotis crashed on its scenic shore. It was being chased by the Greek Navy during stormy weather before the crash in 1980, and its hull has been falling apart on the shore ever since.
