Running is one of the best ways to stay in shape and once it gets colder outside, it’s time to move your runs to the treadmill. Even though running on a treadmill can get boring, there are many ways to spice it up. Here are some ways to make your treadmill runs more exciting.

Set a Goal

In the past, most of our goals revolved around races, but since in-person races have been canceled, it’s time to set new goals. Some goals to try include running faster or logging more miles.

Let Your Entertainment Motivate You

Podcasts, songs, and TV shows can add some fun to your workouts. You can sync your runs to them by increasing your speed every time the chorus comes on are stepping up the incline when your favorite character comes on the screen.

Treat Yourself

Sometimes we need extra motivation to work out, so at the end of your run reward yourself with a latte or an hour of TV.

Experiment with Modes

Make your workouts more exciting by playing with the incline and testing out different modes like dynamic or random.

Most people only use a treadmill to run or walk, but the options are pretty much endless. You can make your workout more demanding by changing the pace and adding intervals, but taking it easy and working out with a couple of light dumbbells is also an option.
