This Simple DIY Oil Diffuser is Natural and Effective!

Oil diffusers are great to have around the house, especially in places like the bathroom and laundry room to keep everything smelling fresh and clean. The ones you can buy at the stores are not always so natural though and have strange and often too strong odors. So, if you want the same effect but with easy and natural ingredients, try out this DIY project!

Tools

For this project, you will need an empty jar or bottle, whatever essential oil you like, and rattan reeds, which are used to diffuse the smell. If you can’t find them, you can also use cooking skewers.

Instructions

  1. Take 1/4 cup of warm to hot water and pour it into whatever vessel you are using.
  2. Drop in 30 drops of the essential oil or blend of oils you will be using.
  3. Finally, take at least 5 reeds and stick them into the vessel. You can use more if you want there to be more of a smell in the room, but you do really need at least 5.
  4. After about 5 days or a week, flip the reeds so that they can release more of the mixture that they’ve absorbed.
  5. Enjoy in your own home or give them away as gifts to friends!
