Three “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Inspired Cocktails

Rachel Brosnahan in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"

The award winning Amazon show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a hysterical tale about a woman in the 1950’s who becomes a comedienne. Since it’s the 50’s, of course there are a lot of cocktails involved, so if you want to live in the present but taste a blast from the past, try these cocktails.

Martini

The classic martini is seen often in the film, and was a huge cocktail of the decade. A martini is actually really easy to make and only have three ingredients! Combine 2 ounces of gin in a cocktail shaker with 1 ounce of vermouth. If you want a dry martini, make it a dry vermouth. Shake well, pour into a glass, and pop in an olive.

Tom Collins

This is actually a really refreshing drink, perfect for the summer. First, start off by filling a glass with ice. Then, in a drink shaker, put in ice, 2 ounces of gin, 3/4 ounce of lemon juice, and 1/2 ounce of simple syrup. Shake, pour into the glass, and top with 2 ounces of club soda.

Gin Rickey

This three ingredient drink is super easy to make! Just pour 1 1/2 ounces of gin into a glass with ice and squeeze in 1 whole lime. Put the lime into the glass, top with club soda and you’re done!
