5 Things to Know if You Work from Home

Working from home is not something that’s good for everyone, but if you’re currently in that position, there are ways to get the most out of it.

Don’t Work in Bed

It may sound tempting to curl up with your favorite blankets and pillows, but that’s not such a great work environment. You’ll get sleepy pretty soon and your back will suffer from being in that positions for hours. Set up a designated work environment at a desk or at least a dining table and try to get a good office chair as soon as possible.

Routine is Everything

Just because there’s nobody around, it doesn’t mean that you can walk around with bed hair and in your pajamas all day. Brush your teeth, get dressed, have a breakfast – simply do everything you would if you were going to the office.

Take a Break

Not having anyone to overlook your work can be great but you must have the discipline to do your job from home, but don’t be too hard on yourself. A big lunch break and a few more short breaks will only do you good.

Talk to People

Take five minutes to call someone you like to talk to and you’ll feel less lonely being home alone.

Stay Away from the Fridge

When you’re at home with access to the full fridge, you’re likely to keep snacking during the day. If you can’t control this urge, try only buying what you need for the day instead for the whole week or more.
