Just Because There’s No Expiration Date, Doesn’t Mean These Beauty Products Can’t Go Bad

A lot of people, especially people who don’t have a set beauty routine, don’t think about beauty products expiring. However, nothing can last forever, and even inedible products can go bad!

No matter what level your skincare and beauty routine is at, you have to be careful about what products you have after a while!

Water

A lot of times, water is the first ingredient in a beauty product, which makes it more susceptible to growing bacteria. Make sure that if you have water-based products you’re checking to see if the smell, texture, or color have changed since you first opened it. If so, toss it.

Foundation

If you don’t wear foundation or concealer often, you might want to toss it now since they only really last 1 year. Especially since it goes on your face where the skin is really sensitive, don’t push it.

Mascara

Unfortunately, both mascara and liquid eyeliners only have a shelf life of about 3 months. A good way to make sure you get a good 3-4 months out of your products is to have it out of contact with the air as much as possible, which means don’t pump your mascara wand into the bottle more than once until you really need more!
